Retail Manager – Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties
Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties is seeking a strong, hands-on Retail Manager to support and lead operations across our Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan locations.
This role is built for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume retail and food service environment and takes pride in leading teams from the front, maintaining high standards, and delivering an exceptional guest experience every day. This is not a sit-back management role—this is a position for a leader who is fully engaged in the operation.
Compensation: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do
• Oversee daily operations across all retail departments including Merchandising, Deli, Hot Table, Mozzarella, Sandwiches, Bakery, and Cash Registers
• Lead, train, coach, and hold accountable a large team of retail employees across both locations
• Ensure all equipment is operational and functioning properly (refrigeration, slicers, scales, hot tables, POS systems)
• Execute and enforce all company systems, standards, and procedures consistently
• Manage daily task delegation, task sheets, and communication to team members
• Maintain proper inventory levels, product rotation (FIFO), and station readiness at all times
• Monitor and manage cash handling procedures, including safe counts and register accuracy
• Partner with senior leadership on inventory control, ordering alignment, and minimizing waste
• Ensure all stations are fully stocked, clean, and operating efficiently throughout the day
• Drive high standards of customer service, resolving issues professionally and proactively
• Act as the point of communication between store teams and upper management
• Step into any station as needed to support operations and maintain flow during peak periods
• Train and develop team members to improve performance, consistency, and accountability
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
What We’re Looking For
• Proven leadership experience in high-volume retail or food service environments
• Strong operational awareness with an ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously
• A disciplined, detail-oriented approach to execution and problem-solving
• A hands-on leader who leads by example and is comfortable working side-by-side with their team
• Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building skills
• Experience with inventory systems, cash handling, and POS platforms
• Strong sense of urgency and the ability to perform under pressure
• Food safety knowledge required (ServSafe certification preferred)
Requirements
• Open availability is required (mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and events)
• Ability to work between both Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan locations
• Must be comfortable being fully engaged on the floor across all departments daily
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding environment
