Position Summary
We are seeking a fun, enthusiastic, and reliable Center Assistant to support our teachers and inspire students at least two afternoons per week. The Center Assistant helps maintain an engaging, organized learning environment and demonstrates a commitment to treating every student — including those with special needs — with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with learning activities, hands-on materials, and lesson prep.
- Distribute, collect, and reshelve instructional materials and manipulatives.
- Operate and restock the Motivation Station (reward store).
- Lead Transition Time activities (short games/activities between instructional hours).
- Support safe student arrival and departure procedures.
- Complete light office tasks (filing, attendance tracking, assembling info folders) and light tidying/cleaning.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, students, and families; escalate concerns to teaching staff and/or Center Director as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (required).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; patient, kind, and culturally responsive.
- Comfortable leading brief group activities and managing small student interactions.
- Background check clearance.
- Interest in or pursuing a career in education is a plus!
