Kitchen Manager

Chick-fil-A Ann Arbor is seeking a Kitchen Manager to help lead our back-of-house operations and drive excellence in food quality, speed of service, and team development.


This role is ideal for individuals who already have restaurant leadership experience and are ready to take ownership of kitchen performance during shifts. The Kitchen Manager will lead the team on the floor, ensure operational systems are executed with precision, and maintain the high standards Chick-fil-A is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Kitchen Operations

  • Manage kitchen execution during shifts to ensure fast, accurate, and high-quality food production
  • Maintain strong awareness of kitchen flow, ticket times, and throughput
  • Coordinate with front-of-house leadership to maintain smooth service operations
  • Ensure all stations are fully stocked, prepared, and operating efficiently

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and motivate kitchen team members during shifts
  • Hold team members accountable to performance and food safety standards
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members
  • Create a positive and disciplined kitchen culture

Food Safety & Quality Control

  • Enforce strict adherence to Chick-fil-A food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitor holding times, product quality, and preparation procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen environment

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure proper execution of Chick-fil-A systems and kitchen procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs
  • Support prep execution and shift readiness
  • Identify opportunities to improve kitchen efficiency and workflow

Performance Accountability

  • Maintain strong operational standards during high-volume periods
  • Address operational issues quickly and effectively
  • Communicate shift performance and operational updates with leadership

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant leadership or kitchen management experience preferred
  • Ability to lead teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and food quality standards
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive during peak business periods
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
