Hospitality Shift Manager

At Chick-fil-A, a Shift Manager is more than just a manager. They are a leader. A shift manager at Chick-fil-A is a driver of our business. They are responsible for assisting the Director Team ensuring that each function of our business operates smoothly. Shift Managers are responsible for running shifts and leading teams of 20+ people. Shift Managers are responsible for opening and/or closing the restaurant daily.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality among the leadership team.
  • Actively leans in and engages with healthy conflict.
  • Creates a culture of safety (food and physical)
  • Consistent coaching of the Team focusing on growth and development
  • Engages in innovation
  • Supports initiatives from Directors
  • Runs shifts or works in a position as needed to support the shift.
  • Administers reviews and disciplinary meetings
  • Ensure all recipes, policies, and procedures are respected
  • Leads new product rollouts and recipe changes
  • Attending bi-weekly leadership meetings

Availability Requirements

  • Availability to work weekends is required. Shift managers must be available to open or close on Fridays and have an open availability on Saturdays
  • Must be available to open or close 2 additional days during the week, based on business needs
  • Must be available at least 9 consecutive hours each shift.  
  • Required to work at least 31 hours a week
  • 90 day commitment to availability is required
  • The only exception to availability is a student. Shift Managers who are students must provide a current copy of their school schedule to validate their availability. Exceptions will be made by the Senior Director

Requirements:

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Must be available to consistently work 31 +hours a week
  • Must be fully available on Fridays and Saturdays. Must be available to open or close 2 additional days during the week.
  • Must obtain ServSafe certification upon hire
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
