Position Summary
The Back of House (BOH) Team Member is responsible for preparing and assembling high-quality food with precision, speed, and care. This role is crucial to ensuring that every guest receives fresh, delicious meals that meet Chick-fil-A’s high standards. BOH Team Members work behind the scenes to maintain food safety, cleanliness, and excellence in every meal served.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, value teamwork, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Quality
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to Chick-fil-A Pathway standards.
- Ensure all food is served fresh, hot, and prepared with accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain proper portioning, temperature control, and food safety standards.
- Follow all recipes, procedures, and quality guidelines to ensure excellence in every meal.
Operational Excellence
- Keep all kitchen stations clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift.
- Support daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including equipment, floors, and storage areas.
- Rotate stock and maintain proper labeling and dating of all food items.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and efficiency during periods of high volume.
Teamwork & Culture
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with other team members and leaders.
- Support Front of House operations by ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Demonstrate integrity, humility, and teamwork in every interaction.
- Contribute to a positive, encouraging, and growth-oriented kitchen culture.
Additional Expectations
- Demonstrates flexibility by performing other duties as assigned to support operations and team success.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 25 lbs, work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Maintains consistent and reliable attendance with dependable transportation.
- Upholds Chick-fil-A City Gate’s standards of excellence, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and consistent in following procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and continuously improve.
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
- Previous experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Familiarity with Chick-fil-A standards and operational procedures.
