Shift Manager
Chick-fil-A 380 East of Custer
The Why
A Shift Manager at Chick-fil-A is the steady hand on the wheel. You run the shift, develop people, protect the guest experience, and make sure food is fast, safe, and excellent. When you’re on duty, the team knows who’s leading — and they trust you because you’ve earned their respect.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage daily shifts with confidence and clarity
- Ensure exceptional guest service and brand-level hospitality
- Oversee Front of House and Back of House operations
- Coach, motivate, and develop team members in real time
- Hold the standard on food safety, food quality, and speed
- Manage labor, breaks, and shift flow
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally (using the H.E.A.R.D model)
- Communicate clearly with leadership and cross-functional teams
- Open and/or close the restaurant following procedures
- Lead by example — always
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
- Servant-leader mindset with high standards
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Coachable, reliable, and growth-minded
- Operationally sharp and detail-oriented
- Character that is becoming of a leader (Titus 1:7)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Why Being Bilingual Matters Here
Clear communication keeps our kitchen safe, fast, and unified. Team members who can communicate in more than one language help:
- Improve training and on-the-floor coaching
- Reduce errors and increase food safety
- Build trust and teamwork across the kitchen
- Strengthen our culture of respect and inclusion
Why This Role Matters
Shift Managers don’t just run operations — they shape culture. You set expectations, build trust, and make sure every guest and team member leaves better than they arrived. This role functions as an anchor for the team during the chaos of the workday. Shift Managers must be able to ‘roll with the punches’ and keep their head high to lead the team. They understand that their verbal, emotional, and character output defines the entire ‘feel’ of the shift.
The Bottom Line
The Shift Manager role has a direct impact on our guest experience. Building trust with the team while elevating guests' experience is challenging and requires an individual who is truly passionate about service and care more than just a pay increase. If you do not enjoy talking loudly in groups of people, having challenging and difficult conversations with others (even your friends) about their growth, and having 10-20 people look to you for direction during stressful situations, then this job will be a train wreck for you. If you’re the kind of leader who steps up, speaks clearly, and takes responsibility — even when it’s hard — this role is for you.
