ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Manager position is a deliberate, structured steppingstone toward becoming a Restaurant Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role with real responsibility — you’ll run shifts, develop your team, and work directly with the Restaurant Manager to learn the full scope of store operations.


LEADING THE TEAM

  • Arrive on time and set a strong, positive tone for every shift you lead
  • Assign team positions, communicate shift priorities, and hold team members accountable to performance standards
  • Coach and develop team members with timely, clear, and constructive feedback
  • Motivate crew to deliver exceptional guest experiences with urgency and care
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Conduct performance conversations and contribute to performance management decisions
  • Attend Restaurant Manager meetings alongside the store’s GM when directed
  • Report equipment issues, team feedback, and operational opportunities to the Restaurant Manager


OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all store operations during your shift — quality, cleanliness, speed, and guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and manage labor costs, food costs, and cash handling throughout each shift
  • Support product ordering and inventory management as directed by the Restaurant Manager
  • Assist with sales planning and be introduced to the fundamentals of P&L management
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Execute brand standards, marketing initiatives, and promotional programs with precision
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and team alike
  • Adhere to and enforce uniform standards

  • Experience in restaurant, retail, or supervisory management
  • Strong leadership and team-building instincts
  • Guest-centric mindset — raises the bar for everyone
  • Sharp problem-solver who makes good decisions under pressure
  • Passionate about results and committed to their own growth
  • Honest, accountable, and consistently reliable
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Solid math, writing, and basic computer skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Texas Food Manager Certification


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs (boxes, ice, product)
  • Working in a compact shop environment
