We are looking for an energetic Line Cook for our concept, Scratch Gourmet Express and Catering. This position will be responsible for preparing quality food that tastes great, is consistent from day to day, and adheres to the Scratch standard requirements. Ideal candidate has strong multi-tasking abilities to execute catering, take-out and private dining experiences alongside our Executive Chef and Sous chefs.

Requirements:

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Minimum one year restaurant cooking experience
• Serve Safe Certified
• Driver’s License
• Quality control and consistency checks in food production
• Must have a working knowledge of basic math application and computers
• Minimum requirement of basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Possesses good communication skills to work with customers and Scratch team
• Ability to direct the performance of the team and follow up with correction where needed
• Some hospitality experience preferred
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance within all operations including product preparation, maintaining the highest quality products and services
• Communicate effectively with all members of the Scratch team and community
• Conduct the cooking process, food preparation, sizes of portions, and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared to presentation specification
• Prepare all food items food according to recipes and kitchen leaders’ directions in a sanitary manner
• Follow restaurant standards, policies and procedures with all restaurant personnel
• Maintain kitchen equipment maintenance, safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards according to code
• Cleaning all stations in good safety and sanitation practices
• Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by health and safety standards
• Assisting with the organization of kitchen and equipment
• Responsible for following instructions and carrying out assignments properly
• Ability to be seen as a positive role model
• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of workplace conduct
• Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative
• Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
• Must maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times
• Ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment and smallwares required
• Must have an outgoing and positive attitude towards guest and employees
