Shop/Sales Associate

Entry-level position for STIHL Power Equipment sales and service. Ace Hardware will train in all aspects of STIHL Power Equipment sales and service. The Associate will also assist with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and help maintain a clean, orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service:

• Provide a positive representation of Ace Hardware.

• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.

• Possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates.

• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously, and effectively.

• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.

• Possess knowledge of store layout and product locations.

• Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed on STIHL power equipment.

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components and machines.

• Perform all service tasks.

• Prepare all forms (details of work performed on repair orders) to be entered into our computer system.

• Report any additional work required on equipment to customers for proper and safe operation.

• Participate in all training programs.

• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.

• Bring to the attention of the Store Manager any shop tools or equipment that is not in serviceable condition or is unsafe to use.

Store Operations

•            Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.

•            Assist with receiving / stocking of merchandise throughout the store.

•            Assist with maintaining back stock levels.

•            Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.

•            Ensure signage is current throughout the store.

•            Communicate any merchandising, cost control, or sales idea to the Store Manager.

Education/Training

High School or GED equivalent.

Experience

Mechanical ability is a plus. Will train on all aspects of STIHL equipment, including sales and repair.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs).
