Job Purpose 

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure safe, accurate, and timely movement, storage, and dispatch of inventory and orders. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to uphold company standards in productivity, quality, safety, and compliance. The Supervisor provides hands on support while directing and coaching team members to maintain operational efficiency.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of the shipping, receiving, warehouse, and logistics staff.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance direction to team members.
  • Create staffing plans in collaboration with management to meet daily production and shipping needs.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance environment.
  • Oversee and participate in all receiving, warehousing, inventory movement, and shipping operations.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments follow company procedures and SQF/GMP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and records for trucks, deliveries, and inventory transfers.
  • Maintain the relationship as primary FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL contact.
  • Partner with the Inventory Coordinator to schedule, organize, and execute transfer trucks and inventory movements.
  • Oversee stock rotation, inventory accuracy, and efficient warehouse space utilization.
  • Oversee and participate in promptly logging shipping and receiving information into the ERP system.
  • Support cycle counts, physical counts, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Communicate with Production, Supply Chain, and other departmental leads to maintain accurate stock levels and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Enforce GMP, SQF, and employee safety guidelines daily.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure proper use and certification and daily redundant inspections of forklifts.
  • Support quality control efforts to reduce customer complaints and product errors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline shipping/receiving processes.
  • Implement visual workplace improvements to support training, productivity, and quality.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and encourage creativity and problem solving within the team.
  • Perform other related tasks and special assignments as needed to support overall operational success and departmental goals.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.


3+ years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferred.


1-3 years supervisory or lead experience.


Forklift certification (or the ability to obtain certification).


Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, order fulfillment processes, and shipping carrier requirements.


ERP System


NetSuite experience preferred

This position works in a warehouse setting. This role routinely transports supplies to and from other work areas in order to maintain supply quantities compatible with daily orders. This role regularly is required to walk and stand on hard floors for extended amounts of time. This role may be required to operate a pallet jack, forklift, and other related stockroom equipment.
