Dessert Specialist

Culver's makes the finest fresh frozen custard in the country. The Dessert Specialist is a person who will focus on making fresh custard, and crafting delicious desserts. They provide friendly and courteous guest service and hospitality to fulfill our mission and increase guest loyalty to encourage return visits. Essential Functions

  • Continuously provides friendly, courteous guest service to fulfill our mission and increase guest loyalty.
  • Maintains a neat, well-groomed appearance including wrinkle free uniform, personal hygiene, hair restraint and jewelry restrictions.
  • Follows safe food handling standards at all times and ensures safe preparation and service of food.
  • Follows established restaurant best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares all dessert orders including In-House and Drive Thru accurately, prioritizing orders to ensure quality and help meet service goal times.
  • Maintain consistent custard scooping, portioning and presentation of all desserts.
  • Monitor frozen custard to maximize freshness and meet anticipated sales volume.
  • Maintain custard mix in the custard and shake machine hoppers.
  • Operate custard machine to produce quality, fresh frozen custard.
  • Clean and sanitize the Astro blender.
  • Clean and maintain stock in the dessert area.
  • Ensure dessert area products and equipment meet required temperatures and document accordingly.
  • Maintains the dessert stock level and restock prior to shift change.
  • Ensure rotation when stocking and replenishing product and document accordingly.
  • Deliver guest orders as needed.
  • Ensures food allergy orders are filled safely, with complete accuracy.
  • Clean and replace dessert station utensils and trays after lunch and dinner, within four hours of continuous use.
  • Performs secondary and additional tasks after primary tasks are completed.

Qualification Standards:

  • Someone who is consistent in their: Attendance / Punctuality / Performance / Growth / Attitude / Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must meet the federal and state age requirements for the position responsibilities.
  • Initiate friendly and courteous interaction with guests and team.
  • Interact verbally with front of house team members.
  • Work with urgency.
  • Work safely to avoid hazards including but not limited to: slipping, tripping, and machine use.
  • Stand or walk during entire shift.
  • Reach, bend and clean surfaces on a regular basis.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
