The Beverage Manager is integral to the successful operation of beverage services. This role involves coordinating and supervising beverage service areas to deliver exceptional quality to our customers. The Beverage Manager is responsible for financial management, ensuring that budgetary guidelines are met without compromising on quality.
Key Functions
- Develops accurate and aggressive long and short range financial objectives relating to liquor sales.
- Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.
- Check daily condition of facility and equipment, ensuring all malfunctions are reported immediately to the General Manager.
- Generates maximum financial performance of the Beverage Department and updates financial tracking spreadsheet daily in preparation for month-end reports.
- Conduct department orientation, line ups and training to meet departmental requirements. Ensure staff has full understanding of food and beverage menus and wine list.
- Forecast staff requirements and prepare work roster.
- Maintain effective cost and portion controls and requisition supplies to meet par stock.
- Inspect, plan and ensure staff, facilities and materials are ready for service each day before opening.
- In-depth knowledge of beverage menus, sequences of service, wine products and service and general hotel information.
- Prepare and submit weekly time sheets to payroll manager .
- Ensures work area is left clean and organized at all times.
Knowledge & Skills
- Education: Applicants should possess three to five years of experience in diverse operations management positions.
- Experience: A college degree, preferably in hotel/restaurant management or business administration, is required. Equivalent experience in these fields is also acceptable.
