Build strong restaurant leaders. Deliver better operations. Own the results.
V1 Restaurant Group, a Firehouse Subs franchise group operating five restaurants, is seeking an experienced District Manager / Area Manager to lead our General Managers and strengthen performance across the group. You will work directly with ownership and spend substantial time in our restaurants, coaching leaders, improving execution and building teams that deliver consistently.
Our five restaurants are located in Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, Keizer, and McMinnville. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel among all five locations.
You will have direct access to ownership and meaningful responsibility for people, guest experience and financial performance. Success means capable GMs, well-staffed restaurants, consistent standards and fewer day-to-day issues requiring owner intervention.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
• Lead, coach and hold five GMs accountable for clear operating expectations, deadlines and results. Build individual development plans and follow through.
• Recruit and develop GMs, assistant managers and shift leaders; build succession plans and a dependable management bench.
• Make regular restaurant visits, observe peak-period execution and work alongside teams to teach strong operating habits.
• Review each restaurant's P&L, identify the causes of performance gaps and turn findings into specific actions with owners and deadlines.
• Improve food cost through accurate inventory, ordering, portioning and waste control. Improve labor productivity through sales-based schedules, deployment and training.
• Maintain Firehouse Subs standards for food safety, cleanliness, product quality, service and guest experience.
• Partner with GMs on recruiting, onboarding, retention and schedule coverage so staffing supports both service and profitability.
• Grow sales through consistent execution, catering and local community relationships.
• Establish a weekly operating rhythm: store visits, GM coaching, staffing reviews, performance reviews and concise updates to ownership.
• Resolve recurring problems at their source and build systems that allow GMs to run their restaurants with increasing independence.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first 30 days, assess all five restaurants, understand their financial and staffing baselines, evaluate the management bench and establish a consistent visit and coaching cadence. By 60 days, each restaurant should have a focused action plan, clear staffing priorities and disciplined inventory and scheduling routines. By 90 days, demonstrate measurable progress against agreed baselines, stronger GM follow-through and fewer recurring operating issues requiring owner intervention.
WHAT YOU BRING
• At least two years of direct multi-unit restaurant leadership, including responsibility for GMs and restaurant financial results.
• A strong restaurant operations foundation, ideally in quick-service or fast-casual restaurants.
• Specific examples of improving profitability, food or labor performance and operating standards across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated success developing managers, recruiting leadership talent and addressing performance issues fairly and consistently.
• Confidence reading restaurant P&Ls, investigating cost variances and translating numbers into practical coaching.
• Strong personal reliability, organization, communication and follow-through.
• Willingness to work in restaurants and coach during peak periods, including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
• Ability to travel regularly among all five restaurants.
