Main responsibilities of a cashier:
- Greeting customers upon entry and exit
- Managing transactions using a cash register
- Balancing the cash register
- Scanning goods accurately
- Accepting various payment methods
- Providing change, receipts, and other customer services
- Resolving complaints and processing returns
- Bagging purchased goods for customers
- Upselling and cross-selling when appropriate
Cashier Job Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience with POS systems and cash registers
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong math skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
