Opened in the heart of Plaza Midwood in 2021, Calle Sol quickly became one of Charlotte’s most vibrant dining destinations, evoking the warmth and rhythm of Tampa and Miami’s Latin eateries.
We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef with a deep passion for Latin American and Chino-Latino cuisine to lead our culinary operations at Calle Sol Latin Café & Cevicheria. As the Executive Chef, you will be the creative and operational heart of the kitchen — responsible for creating innovative menus, maintaining the highest culinary standards, and leading a talented team dedicated to excellence.

Executive Chef Responsibilities
Oversee all culinary operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, flavor, and presentation.
Inspire, lead, and develop a talented kitchen team — fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and respect.
Drive menu development and seasonal updates rooted in Latin American cuisine.
Manage kitchen budgets, food costs, and inventory systems to achieve operational efficiency and profitability.
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization in compliance with local regulations.
Partner with ownership and management to align culinary initiatives with brand goals and growth strategy.
Train and mentor Sous Chefs and culinary leaders to ensure consistency and excellence.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.
Deep knowledge and appreciation of Latin American cuisine, including Peruvian, Cuban, and wok-based cooking techniques.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse kitchen team.
Experience managing budgets, food costs, and vendor relationships.
Creative flair with a passion for innovation, menu development, and presentation.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Familiarity with Mecklenburg County health and safety regulations.
