Overview
Howley Bread Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our Panera Bread cafés locations in Connecticut, with occasional assignments in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, functional, and visually consistent facilities through preventative maintenance and light repair work.
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance & Facilities, the technician will operate independently in the field, ensuring timely response to assigned tasks and upholding brand standards across multiple locations.

Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and light repairs on café equipment and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues such as faucet leaks, tile damage, lighting problems, and other small facility-related concerns
- Replace worn components such as faucet cartridges, door closers, toilet hardware, and light ballasts
- Conduct site inspections to identify and report recurring or emerging maintenance needs
- Transport and install replacement equipment or supplies using a company-provided vehicle
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and ensure inventory is properly rotated
- Assist with small projects such as signage installation, furniture assembly, patching, and minor painting
- Accurately document completed work and update task status using mobile work order apps
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or facilities maintenance, preferably in foodservice or multi-unit environments
- Proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical, and light HVAC work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift and install equipment (50+ lbs)
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple sites
- Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented, professional demeanor
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
Territory
Primarily Connecticut, with occasional assignments in Rhode and Massachusetts.

Working Conditions
