Schedule Requirements:
As a Director of Operations, you will be scheduled a minimum of 45 hours per week, with a typical range of 45–52 hours depending on the needs of the business. We utilize a rolling 2-week schedule to provide advance visibility so you can plan well both personally and professionally. Directors serve as key-holders, which means you will rotate between opening, mid-day, and closing shifts to support the restaurant and team at critical times throughout the day.

Opening shifts typically begin between 4:15 and 4:45 AM and involve preparing the restaurant for a successful business day. This includes unlocking the store, checking inventory and equipment, reviewing labor plans, prepping for catering orders, and welcoming Team Members and leaders with a clear game plan and high expectations for excellence.

Closing shifts focus on leading the team through the afternoon, evening and final hours of service—our restaurant closes at 10:00 PM—and assisting with end-of-day responsibilities such as cleaning, stocking, and resetting the restaurant for the next day. This process typically takes about 1.5 hours after the final guest is served. The closing key-holder is then responsible for “wrapping up” the day, verifying critical checklists, and securing the store. Open and close responsibilities are typically limited to three times per week to maintain balance across the leadership team. If you close one night, the earliest you would be expected to start the following day is 8:00 AM.

In addition to opening and closing, some shifts may fall in mid-day windows such as 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 10:45 AM–8:00 PM, depending on the needs of the business and team coverage. 

Directors receive two weeks of paid time off, along with access to personal and sick days.

Salary/Financial Benefits:
The starting base salary for a Director of Operations is $60,000 annually. In addition to base pay, Directors are eligible for monthly bonuses (based on profit growth and other identified KPIs) and yearly raises of up to 5%, based on individual performance and tenure. We require a two-and-a-half-year commitment for all Directors of Operations. The journey begins with approximately 3 months of comprehensive training across all operational areas of the restaurant. During this time, you will learn to lead any process, coach effectively, and model excellence. Following foundational training, you’ll be equipped to open and close the restaurant with excellence. After that, you’ll work closely with the Executive Team to step into a functional leadership area—such as Director of Training, Stewardship, Care, or Leader Development—where you’ll be responsible for advancing specific business goals and team development.

In total, it typically takes about a year to fully gain operational confidence, establish relational credibility, and begin driving meaningful results. The remaining time allows you to deepen your leadership, mentor others, and help shape the future of the organization.
