Group Sales Manager - Full Time Year Round
We are seeking a candidate with a great personality and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry. With the most function space of any property
in Maine, the Holiday Inn by the Bay is the group sales market leader in the state of Maine. Our Sales Team is vital
to our property’s success by securing high volume group business for our property through a wide variety of sales channels. The Group Sales Manager position is
responsible for overall account management and generating top line revenue.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Group Manager
· Meet and exceed all revenue targets
· Actively solicit and book business within assigned market segments
· Effectively utilize sales tools and systems to drive growth
· Advanced sales and negotiation skills required to close large, high-end business
· Respond to high volume of RFPs in a timely and effective manner
· Negotiate contract terms with both direct and third-party clients
· Analyze market conditions and proactively lead market trends
· Prepare competitive and effective proposals and bids to acquire business
· Spend a minimum of one day per week in the marketplace (sales calls, networking, etc.)
· Ability to make outbound sales a priority
· Participate in the creation and execution of market specific marketing plans
· Accurately forecast future outcomes for all assigned groups
· Strong organizational skills and record keeping skills
· Ability to work within the framework of an established team
· Represent our property with respect and integrity in the marketplace
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of five years of Sales Experience, required
· Minimum of two years Hotel Sales Experience, preferred
· Associate's degree, required
· Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
· Amadeus/Delphi experience, preferred
· Ability to travel and meet with customers, as needed
· Available to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends, as needed
· Team Player, required
· Must be very organized and detail oriented.
· Must have a high level of communication skills.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
· Knowledge of Business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
