Job Description
The Food and Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing the restaurant, banquets, and kitchen. We are looking for a positive, organized, driven, and customer service-oriented individual to join our team!
Daily Duties
• Responsible for achieving budgeted food and beverage sales, labor costs, and profitability of the department
• Participate in marketing and menu planning
• Oversee banquet operations including set up and execution of events
• Lead team in hiring, motivating, evaluating, coaching, and directing staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established goals and objectives.
• Ensure all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback, and resources necessary
• Ensure staff properly clean and wipe down all equipment and that the room/area is left clean and tidy. Direct staff on proper food handling, safety, and sanitation
• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing our employees’ proper clock-in times, grooming policies (check uniforms, nametags, hygiene, etc…)
• Learn about state and federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations. Understand and enforce corporate and hotel specific policies and procedures
• Ensure all Food and Beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards set out by the Hotel and noting any special requests and instructions conveyed on the Banquet Event Orders
• Willing and able to help out and pitch in during busy times, in any position
• Contribute to the team effort of the overall hotel by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the hotel and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
• Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
- Must be very organized and detail oriented
- Must have a high level of communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends
- College degree preferred
