General Summary
We are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences by providing high-quality products and services. The Visual Merchandiser / Gift team is responsible for handling all dropship products and ensuring that our department is fully stocked, well-organized, and merchandised. This role involves processing items from receipt to display, merchandising the department, maintaining the cleanliness and order of department floors, shelves, and fixtures, and ensuring that all products are properly labeled. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who takes pride in accuracy and efficiency, with a focus on customer satisfaction. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and help us achieve our goal to “Amaze Every Customer Every Time.”
Responsibilities
Accountable for incoming freight flow and processing:
- Inspect incoming merchandise and document damages
- Price every item paying attention to freight charges and margins
- Submit damage claims in timely manner
- Backstock product in organized manner
- Ensure paperwork is turned in immediately for data processing
Accountable for assigned departmental integrity:
- Department full and product pulled from backstock
- Department floors, shelves and fixtures are clean
- Backstock area organized and clean
- All products have ACE labels or BIN labels
- Breakable dishes, fragile art, etc pricing visible on the front or top of item
- Additional labeling for contents not included, fragile, etc items
- Continous merchandising to keep the department fresh and appealing
- Department inventory empties or overages identified and discussed with manager
- Assist in planning for sales and major holidays i.e. Fathers Day, Mothers Day, etc.
Requirements
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including nights and weekends
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (up to 50lbs)
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to use ladders, drills, box knives, and other miscellaneous tools (the ability and willingness to climb ladders is a MUST)
- Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn computer based concepts quickly
- Capable of handling multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
- Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks
