A Culver's Prep team member is responsible for preparing all necessary food items and ensuring the kitchen is ready for daily operations. This role typically begins in the early morning (e.g., 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM) with a focus on completing prep duties before the restaurant opens or peak lunch hours begin.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Wash, chop, slice, and portion ingredients like vegetables, meats, and seafood according to recipes and portion control standards.
Quality & Safety: Consistent demonstration of sanitation and food safety practices, including monitoring food code dates and using the First In-First Out (FIFO) method for stock rotation.
Inventory & Maintenance: Complete daily inventory checklists, adjust prep levels based on sales volume, and set up steam tables with hot items.
Cleanliness: Sanitize workstations, wash prep dishes, and sweep or mop food preparation areas after tasks are completed.
Documentation: Take and record temperatures of required foods on the Quality Control/Safe Food Checklist.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
Age: 16 years or older.
Schedule: Either Monday-Friday. Saturday & Sunday, or flexible
Skills: Ability to work independently, maintain a sense of urgency, and follow written instructions.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand and walk constantly during a shift and reach, bend, or stoop regularly.
Strength: Ability to lift and carry weights ranging from 10 lbs up to 50 lbs frequently.
