Summary - The Internal Assistant Service Manager supports the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations of the internal service department. This role is responsible for coordinating internal repair orders, managing technician workflow, ensuring timely vehicle reconditioning, maintaining quality standards, and supporting communication between Service, and Parts departments. The Internal Assistant Service Manager plays a critical role in vehicle readiness, efficiency, and profitability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage internal repair orders (ROs) for used and new vehicle reconditioning.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal work to meet sales delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate parts availability and special-order parts to prevent delays.
  • Assist in resolving internal service-related issues promptly.
  • Verify all required documentation is completed accurately.
  • Review internal repair orders for accuracy and proper labor operations.
  • Ensure warranty and internal billing processes are followed correctly.
  • Support Service Manager with reporting.
  • Support a positive and professional work environment.

Minimum Hourly Pay Rate of $18.00, which can increase up to $25.00/hour based on productivity.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The individual should possess:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of automotive industry experience and expertise (auto repair, customer service and sales); auto repair skills, preferably ASE certifications; 
  • Must have a valid California driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Required to maintain the profitability of the department while controlling expenses and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Able to problem solve and handle a variety of issues.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to follow direction and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively.
  • Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure.

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 15 pounds.
  • Able to withstand outdoor weather.
