Summary:

The Service Technician L2B is responsible for diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned and in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.


Schedule:

Our Service Department has implemented an Alternative Workweek Schedule for this position. Here’s how it works:

  • You will have a 4-week rotating schedule.
  • For three weeks, you will work 4 days each week for 10 hours each day.
  • For one week, you will work 3 days for 10 hours each day, and one day for 9 hours.
  • This schedule repeats every 4 weeks.

Position is 100% on-site.


Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Carries out a variety of vehicle repairs from, but not limited to, oil changes to rebuilding a vehicle again.
  • Diagnoses cause of malfunction and perform repairs, as needed.
  • Document all work performed and findings on repair orders and inspection sheets.
  • Duplicate and document the guest concern. Document diagnostic test with results and the equipment used to isolate the cause. Document the correction and verify the repair.
  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Road tests vehicles to quality check work performed as required.
  • Examines vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Maintains communication with Service Advisor/Assistant Service Manager (ASM) if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
  • Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Achieves the production objectives set by management.
  • Provides the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Maintains communication with Parts Department on status of parts.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
  • Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.
  • Performs other specific administrative functions as directed by the service management.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.


Base Hourly Rate of $16.90 plus bonus compensation based on individual productivity, which can range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any upper limit.



Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The individual should possess:


Experience: (1) At least 2 years Toyota experience plus completion of the requirements below; or (2) at least 3 years of equivalent Service Technician experience, plus completion of the requirements below; or (3) equivalent current off-brand manufacturer certifications plus completion of the requirements below:

Completion of at least 2 of the ASE Sets below: Set #1: Suspension & Steering (A4) and Brakes (A5); Set #2: Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6) and Heating & Air Conditioning (A7); Set #3: Engine Performance (A8) and Engine Repair (A1); Set #4: Transmission/Transaxle (2) and Manual Drive Train & Axles (A3).

Maintain factory required certifications and trainings.   

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; federal, state, and local regulations

such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste and mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying and percentages) and application.      

Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, and legal documents, and coordinate activities with other employees.  

Pay attention to detail, read, and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.

Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
