JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and passionate Cook to join our team. As a Cook at Denny’s, you are responsible for preparing and cooking food according to company standards and guest preferences. Your primary goal is to ensure food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction by delivering consistent and well-presented meals in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and cook food items to Denny’s specifications and guest preferences.
• Ensure proper plate presentation and food quality for every order.
• Follow all recipes and portion standards to maintain consistency.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, including the fry line and prep areas.
• Adhere to proper food handling, storage, labeling, and rotation standards.
• Complete all back-of-the-house tasks, including prepping, restocking, cleaning, and closing duties, before the end of the shift.
• Be able to work efficiently during peak business hours.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including attendance, dress code, and training requirements.
• Report any equipment issues, safety hazards, or out-of-stock items to management immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including working in other roles.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have current Food Handlers Certification
• One (1) year of cooking experience required.
• Must be able to read, write, and have great communication skills.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to stand for long periods without breaks.
• Must be able to reach heights of approximately 6 feet
• Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, and twist repeatedly during shift.
