Role Overview
The Back of House (BOH) Operations Lead is responsible for leading our kitchen team to deliver world-class food safety, food quality, and food cost performance. This leader will create, refine, and implement systems that ensure excellence during every shift while developing the skills, confidence, and professionalism of our team members.
The ideal candidate is a humble, hard-working teacher-coach who can model excellence, solve problems quickly, and build a culture of ownership and care in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Oversee BOH operations to ensure accuracy, speed, quality, and safety standards are consistently met
- Lead the execution of Chick-fil-A food safety standards, including Health Department compliance and internal audits
- Build and implement systems that reduce waste, improve food cost, and increase profitability
- Ensure kitchen readiness for volume shifts (breakfast, lunch, dinner, catering production, etc.)
- Partner with leadership to forecast sales and production needs
Team Leadership & Development
- Model servant leadership and a growth mindset for all team members
- Coach, train, and assess team members to achieve certification and advancement
- Hold team accountable to performance and cultural standards
- Conduct regular performance check-ins and kitchen development huddles
- Foster an environment of positivity, coaching, and shared success
People & Culture

- Build a culture where team members feel known, valued, and challenged
- Support recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for BOH roles
- Identify and train future BOH leaders
Results & Stewardship
- Maintain and improve food safety score, taste/quality score, order accuracy, throughput time, and food cost
- Monitor daily/weekly reporting and lead corrective action plans as needed
- Protect brand, property, equipment, and inventory through responsible stewardship
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience (restaurant, retail, military, sports, or equivalent)
- Strong communicator and motivator with high emotional intelligence
- Ability to teach, coach, and train in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem-solver who thrives on continuous improvement
- Track record of building and leading high-performance teams
- Comfortable with accountability, systems, and measurable results
Reports to: Director of Operations
Schedule: Full-time | 5 days per week | 40–45 hours
Availability Required: Monday–Saturday | 6:00 AM–11:00 PM (flex schedule)
Restaurant/kitchen leadership or ServSafe certification is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
