Team Leader

A Team Leader is one who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture, and has a servant’s heart. Our Team Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service.

Team Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow. Their primary areas of focus are ensuring the restaurant operates effectively, coaching and developing team members, and maintaining excellence in both Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations.

Front of House Team Leader Responsibilities

  • Participate operationally in day-to-day activities in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Offer immediate and respectful responses to Guests' needs
  • Assist in training new hires and developing existing team members
  • Set the tone for each shift and serve as a positive role model
  • Be a friendly, encouraging team player who fosters a culture of teamwork and accountability
  • Open and/or close the restaurant, lead shifts, and serve as a key holder
  • Count cash drawers and complete end-of-day procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leaders, and Guests
  • Foster strong communication and teamwork between Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Support senior leadership in achieving operational and financial goals
  • Hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, food safety, and service standards
  • Maintain a sense of urgency while ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, and report repair needs promptly
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges quickly to maintain service excellence

Kitchen Team Leader Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Back of House operations to ensure food is prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Maintain Chick-fil-A standards for food quality, freshness, presentation, and recipe execution
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
  • Monitor kitchen productivity, labor efficiency, and speed of service
  • Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members on food preparation, equipment use, and operational procedures
  • Hold team members accountable for recipe adherence, portion control, and food safety practices
  • Assist with inventory management, truck orders, product rotation, and stock levels
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks on products, workstations, and equipment
  • Complete opening and closing kitchen procedures, including cleaning, stocking, and equipment readiness
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges quickly to maintain service excellence
  • Foster strong communication and teamwork between Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained, and report repair needs promptly
  • Support food cost management, waste reduction, and overall kitchen efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
