Utility Associate Description   

The utility associate is responsible for various services to include but are not limited to cleaning equipment, floors, workstations, utensils, pots and pans using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.  Checking ice levels, bib sodas and CO2 containers and replace if necessary; unloading supply trucks; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.  

  

Duties Include:  

  • Is someone who values the power of teamwork 
  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic 
  • Cleans equipment which may include worktables, refrigerators and other equipment 
  • Cleans utensils, pots and pans by washing them by hand 
  • Returns clean utensils, pots and pans to their proper places   
  • Removes trash and garbage to designated areas 
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs and buffs floors 
  • Cleans walls and trashcans   
  • Stocks, dates, rotates and checks temperature of product Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck    
  • Unloads supply trucks   
  • Active food handler’s card 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Emerging policies and product, service, quality, equipment and operations standards 

 

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Follows all security and safety procedures established by the EDMV and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport 
  • Must have a food handler’s card 
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner   
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents  

 

Physical Requirements: 

The following are physical actions that are commonly required during the performance of the daily job routine.  They include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Walk continuously throughout the shift 
  • Frequently working in a hot environment 
  • Frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions  
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for extended periods of time to perform normal job functions 
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to a minimum of 30 pounds  
  • Use protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection and/or other protective equipment deemed appropriate as needed. 
  • Any and all other physical movements necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Real ID is mandatory for TSA background check
