Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial dishwasher equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
  • Hand wash items as needed, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including dish racks, sinks, and surrounding surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles regularly and dispose of waste in accordance with sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Support kitchen staff by assisting with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables or portioning ingredients.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaned items.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and serving staff to ensure timely availability of clean dishes and utensils.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and management regarding cleaning schedules and priorities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while performing job duties.


Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working as a dishwasher in a restaurant or food service establishment is preferred but not required.

2. Ability to operate commercial dishwasher equipment safely and efficiently.

3. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.

4. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

5. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.

6. Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
