Driver and Shop Assistant

We are a locally owned ACE Hardware store. We have four locations in the Columbus area; Westerville, Sunbury, Johnstown, and New Albany. We are seeking outgoing, friendly, and helpful team members to welcome and assist customers. Previous hardware experience is a plus but not a requirement as we provide extensive training. Main Responsibilities of a Driver and Shop Assistant:

• Driving store deliveries in a safe and timely manner
• Keeping the vehicle clean and safe
• Planning routes based on road and traffic conditions
• DELIVERY VEHICLE IS A 15ft BOX TRUCK
• Ability to assist in our small engine repair shop
• Screen repair

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified driver to deliver merchandise to customers, transport product between stores, and pick up and return repaired equipment. May be asked to do additional tasks should time permit.

A good job candidate must be an experienced driver with a valid driver's license and a completely clean driving record.

A qualified job candidate must observe all traffic regulations, and be able to plan the best routes based on road and traffic conditions. They also must properly maintain the vehicle on a daily basis to keep it clean, comfortable, and safe.

Responsibilities:

• Using a navigation app to plan the best routes
• Staying up-to-date with weather and road conditions
• Adjusting routes based on road, traffic, and weather conditions
• Conducting daily vehicle maintenance checks
• Immediately reporting any potential vehicle issues
• Interacting with clients in a professional and friendly manner
• Providing excellent delivery experience
• Keep track of proper documentation for stores and customers
• Assisting in the small engine repair shop
• Screen repair

Job Requirements:

• A valid driver's license
• A clean driving record
• Driving experience
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps
• Ability to handle heavy merchandise
• Strong communication skills
• Professional, friendly, and polite disposition

Work schedule
