Banquet Line Cook Job Description

Position Summary
The Banquet Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food for banquet events, weddings, golf tournaments, member functions, and club dining activities. This position works as part of the culinary team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and according to club standards while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items for banquet and special events according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up and stock assigned kitchen stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, portioning, marinating, and plating.
- Ensure food is cooked and served at proper temperatures and in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and kitchen facilities.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work closely with chefs and banquet staff to coordinate service during events.
- Assist with inventory rotation and proper storage of food products.
- Monitor product quality and notify supervisors of shortages or issues.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Support other kitchen staff as needed during high-volume events.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or banquet kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Food Handler Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced kitchen environments
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
