Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations while mentoring Shift Managers and team members. The AGM helps drive performance, uphold Layne’s standards, and ensure every guest experience is “Perfect Every Time.” This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about people and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the GM in managing restaurant operations and team performance
- Lead shifts and coach Shift Managers and hourly team members
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Monitor labor, food cost, and inventory to meet financial goals
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and service standards are consistently met
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly
- Help execute local marketing and community engagement efforts
- Step into GM responsibilities when needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience (QSR or fast-casual preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- ServSafe certified or willing to obtain
- Must be 18+ and able to lift up to 50 lbs

- Knowledge of labor laws, food safety, and restaurant compliance
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and P&L management
