Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations while mentoring Shift Managers and team members. The AGM helps drive performance, uphold Layne’s standards, and ensure every guest experience is “Perfect Every Time.” This is a hands-on role for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about people and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily restaurant operations and overall performance
- Assist in hiring, training, and developing team members and Shift Managers
- Lead shifts and provide ongoing coaching and support to the team
- Help manage labor, food cost, and key operational metrics
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and service standards are consistently met
- Maintain inventory, ordering, and operational efficiency
- Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Support local marketing efforts and community engagement
- Step in to support the GM as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience (QSR or fast-casual preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient in POS systems and basic Microsoft Office
- Food Manager Certification or willing to obtain
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Knowledge of labor laws, food safety, and restaurant compliance
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and P&L management
