We're looking for enthusiastic and engaging Math Instructors who can make learning math fun and accessible for students right here in Grand Rapids.
As a Math Instructor at our center, you'll work directly with students of all ages and skill levels, using our proprietary curriculum and teaching techniques to build their confidence and mathematical understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver mathematical instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Provide individualized instruction in a small group setting, ensuring each student's needs are addressed.
- Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during instructional sessions.
- Evaluate and document student progress, providing positive, constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment, managing student behavior to optimize learning.
- Communicate student needs to center leadership and instructional staff in a team-teaching environment.
- Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, or curriculum preparation.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
Qualifications:
- Strong math skills, demonstrating proficiency through at least Algebra I, with higher-level math competency (e.g., Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Calculus) highly valued for instructing high school students.
- A passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to inspire students, establish a fun learning environment, and consistently demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching math.
- Willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks and move easily from one student to another while keeping track of multiple instructional lessons.
- Reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling assigned duties.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA.
- All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
