The Deli Counter Clerk provides friendly, efficient service at the service counter while preparing orders, slicing deli meats, packaging salads, and stocking hot and cold food items. This role ensures all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards are met throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer product questions, offer samples, and fulfill custom orders for meats, cheeses, and prepared foods.
- Food Preparation: Slice meats and cheeses to customer specifications, assemble sandwiches or party platters, and prepare hot or cold deli items.
- Weighing & Packaging: Accurately weigh, wrap, price, and label products using scales and POS/register equipment.
- Stocking & Rotation: Restock display cases, grab-and-go racks, and hot/cold service counters. Rotate stock to ensure freshness and adherence to expiration
- Sanitation & Safety: Clean and sanitize slicing equipment, work tables, display cases, and utensils regularly. Track and log temperatures of food and storage units.
- Compliance: Follow all local health codes, food safety regulations, and company operating procedures.
Must speak fluent English, have reliable transportation.
