Assistant Team Leader (FOH & BOH)

Full-time

Objective:

An Assistant Leader is the second level of leadership at Chick-fil-A Oxford Valley. An Assistant Leader candidate is identified by performing with excellence and consistency, as well as exhibiting “soft” leadership skills. The Assistant Leader position is heavily task oriented (e.g. training, opening & closing assigned stations, positioning team members, executing breaks as per Team Leaders shift plan), but they still function operationally as a leader in a team position. They are also expected to implement/enforce the Team Leaders game plan & are capable of proficiently running the shift for small amounts of time. They are dedicated to training & developing others. They, also, must have a strong awareness of the Winning Hearts Everyday model and be an example for others based on that model.


Deliverables:


Food Safety/Quality & Store Safety

a. Assist in the completion of the SAFE Daily Critical and use results to build an action plan to increase guest satisfaction

b. Work closely with BOH leadership team to ensure quality and safety standards are being met through the proper execution of policies/procedures as defined by CFA Corp, our store standards, and local health department requirements

c. SERVSAFE Certified

d. Maintain 90 percent or higher score on Deloitte visits

e. Maintain 1, 2, or 3 (ELITE) rating on food safety scale for EcoSure visits

f. Proficient understanding of the Chick-fil-A brand and product knowledge to ensure all procedures and recipes are followed per Chick-fil-A training


Guest Experience


a. Ensure Overall Satisfaction remains at or above the Chain score through serving safe/high quality food


Financial Performance

a. Labor: meet or exceed top 33% labor target

b. Positive Food Cost Gap: zero gap to target and positive F/C gap to .25%


Organizational Alignment

a. Connect regularly with team leaders and fellow assistant leaders to meet goals and run a successful shift

b. Participate in regular meetings along with FOH or BOH Director & leadership team to review goals, operational changes, updates, etc.


Summary of Expectations:


Food Safety

- Proactively address food safety concerns with team leaders and director team

- Shows extensive knowledge of food safety & able to educate team on the importance of food safety & adherence to time & temperature requirements

- Understanding and using caution when preparing food for guests who indicate an allergen or intolerance

- Implement proper holding times & temperatures

- High standard of personal hygiene & health

- Knowledgeable of different types of contamination and how to keep food safe from contamination

- Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the entire store and set the standard for excellence in cleanliness

- Walk-in cooler is clear of clutter, food items are checked for expiration dates, date label stickers in use, and stock is off the floor. If necessary, raw chicken being stored in cooler should be on lowest shelves to avoid cross contamination of ready-to-eat foods

- Proficient and able to understand FOH & BOH systems, recipes, and stations to ensure high quality and safe food is being served

Team Development & Growth

- Continually develop and coach individuals to ensure the team is

constantly growing and thriving

- Utilize Pathway as a training aid for initial and continuous training

- Participate in team member feedback, new hire evaluations, and

periodic performance reviews with leadership team


Guest Experience

- Ensure proper usage of team members related to their strengths and situating them in positions on their shift

- Understanding of Customer Experience Monitor & CARES reporting tools to help better understand guest experience with a focus on accuracy, speed, cleanliness, taste, portion size, and temperature of food


Facilities & Equipment

- Fully trained to properly operate and maintain all kitchen equipment

- Communicate any facilities and equipment issues to the Director of Operations and/or BOH Director

- Be faithful stewards of equipment through ensuring proper maintenance and care for equipment


Financial Performance

- Ensure the team is being faithful stewards to the resources and equipment provided to ensure an outstanding guest experience

- Understanding and execution of meeting food cost by following recipes, holding systems, and tracking waste

- Provide the team with the knowledge & understanding of the role they play in meeting food cost and productivity goals


Organizational Alignment

- Work closely with the Team Leaders, Assistant Leaders, and Director team to ensure a successful shift is accomplished based on the vision, mission, and values of the store. Actively participate in regular meetings with Director team, and leadership team to facilitate innovation, address opportunities for growth, and communicate all initiatives related to FOH/BOH Operations.
