About the Role
Superior Fence & Rail is growing fast — and we’re looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed Procurement & Pricing Manager to keep our operation moving forward without missing a beat. This is not your typical purchasing role. You’ll be a vital part of the engine that powers our installations, ensuring we have the right materials, at the right time, and at the right cost — all while improving margins and supporting a best-in-class customer experience.
In this fast-paced, high-accountability environment, you’ll juggle multiple active projects daily and coordinate closely with our Operations Manager, Installation Ops Manager, and warehouse teams. You'll also be hands-on with our proprietary software and financial tools to manage orders, track pricing, and support logistics across the board. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong numerical confidence, and a calm, proactive approach to problem-solving.
If you’re someone who thrives on precision, loves optimizing systems, and gets satisfaction from knowing your work keeps dozens of crews and customers on schedule, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Be Accountable For:
- Purchasing & Ordering: Place and track orders for fencing materials and install supplies using our proprietary system — with zero margin for error.
- Vendor Management: Work directly with suppliers to negotiate pricing, confirm lead times, and build strong relationships that benefit SFR’s bottom line.
- Cost Control & Margin Protection: Ensure every job hits margin targets by staying ahead of pricing changes, material waste, and supplier cost fluctuations.
- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain tight control over inventory levels. Partner with the warehouse team to prevent stockouts, overstocks, and surprises.
- Job Forecasting: Align closely with operations and sales to anticipate material needs based on upcoming installs, sales trends, and seasonal swings.
- Pricing Strategy: Regularly review product pricing and make smart recommendations to protect profit while staying competitive in the market.
- Problem Solving & Communication: When delivery issues, supplier gaps, or invoice errors pop up — you act fast, communicate clearly, and solve it without drama.
- Process Improvement: Look for smarter ways to order, track, and manage material flow. Propose changes that reduce waste, improve accuracy, or save time.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Procurement Savvy: You’ve worked in purchasing or supply chain — ideally in construction, trades, or a similar field. You know how to buy smart.
- Margin-Minded: You don’t just place orders — you protect margins, catch pricing errors, and think like an owner.
- System Fluent: You’re confident using order management software, QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and inventory tools — or learning fast.
- Organized & Proactive: You’re calm under pressure, structured in your approach, and always a few steps ahead of the next supply challenge.
- Strong Communicator: You’re clear, respectful, and effective when working with vendors, teammates, and leadership.
- Aligned with Our Core Values: You’re honest when things go wrong, optimistic when it gets hard, and relentless about making things happen. You’re accountable, humble, and always improving.
We Live and Lead by Our Core Values
At Superior Fence & Rail, our Core Values aren’t just posters on a wall: they’re part of our daily language, decision-making, and performance reviews. We use them to recognize great work, solve problems, and guide how we show up for each other and our customers.
If these resonate with you, you’ll feel right at home. If not, we may not be the right fit, and that’s okay. Here’s what we stand for:
- Makes It Happen: We take action, follow through, and get results, especially when things get messy. We solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to fix them.
- Radical Honesty and Transparency: We speak the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. We own our mistakes early, communicate clearly, and lead with integrity at every level.
- Accountable and Humble: We take full ownership of our work, and we don’t point fingers. We give credit where it’s due, admit when we’re wrong, and stay open to coaching and growth.
- Empathetic Listener: We genuinely seek to understand others. Whether it’s a crew member, a customer, or a vendor, we listen with care and respond thoughtfully.
- Curious and Adaptive: We ask why, explore new ideas, and adapt quickly. We don’t get stuck in old ways; we evolve and bring others along with us.
- Resilient Optimism: We show up with energy and a positive mindset. Even when things go sideways, we stay grounded, keep moving, and lift the team with us.
