Chick fil A Kernersville is seeking an experienced Back of House Director to lead and develop our kitchen team. This role oversees the entire back of house operation and is responsible for food quality, food safety, speed of service, labor performance, and leadership development.
The Back of House Director builds strong systems that allow the kitchen to operate with speed, accuracy, and consistency. This role leads the kitchen team, develops future leaders, and ensures the restaurant consistently delivers excellent food and operational performance in a high volume environment.
This position is best suited for experienced kitchen leaders who have previously managed high volume restaurant operations and developed other leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the entire back of house team including coordinators, trainers, team leaders, and managers.
Maintain Chick fil A food quality standards across all kitchen operations.
Ensure strict compliance with food safety procedures, health department regulations, and internal food safety systems.
Monitor operational performance including speed of service, order accuracy, waste control, and labor targets.
Oversee inventory management including truck ordering, product rotation, and inventory organization.
Maintain kitchen systems that support fast and organized production during peak business periods.
Coach and develop leaders through ongoing feedback, accountability, and mentorship.
Conduct 30 day and 60 day reviews for new hires and six month performance reviews for team members and leaders.
Develop team members into trainers, team leaders, and managers.
Prepare the kitchen team for health inspections, food quality audits, and food safety audits.
Ensure the kitchen maintains strong cleanliness, organization, and operational discipline.
Step into operational leadership when needed to support shifts and maintain strong execution.
Leadership Scope
The Back of House Director leads the entire kitchen team including coordinators, trainers, team leaders, and managers. This role focuses primarily on coaching and developing leaders while maintaining accountability for operational performance across the kitchen.

Qualifications
Minimum five years of restaurant kitchen management experience required.
Strong leadership experience in high volume kitchen environments.
Ability to develop and lead teams while maintaining strong operational standards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and kitchen organization.
Chick fil A experience preferred.
ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Schedule Expectations
Full time leadership position.
Availability required Monday through Saturday.
Open to close availability expected.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast paced kitchen environment.
