Proposed Job Title: Catering Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations
Type: Full-time, exempt
Location: Spinato’s Headquarters
Pay Range: $60k - 75k
Position Summary:
The Catering Manager plays a critical role in growing Spinato’s catering business by building new client relationships, increasing sales, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience from inquiry to event execution. Based at our Tempe headquarters, this position works closely with restaurant General Managers and kitchen teams to deliver seamless catering events that reflect the Spinato’s standard of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Account Development:
- Proactively seek and develop new catering business and long-term accounts with local businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and event planners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with recurring guests to drive retention and referrals.
- Conduct outreach and represent Spinato’s at networking events, business expos, and community functions.
Guest Experience & Inquiries
- Serve as the main point of contact for all catering inquiries—respond promptly and professionally via phone, email, and web platforms.
- Consult with guests to recommend menu selections, delivery timelines, and event logistics tailored to their needs.
- Ensure a friendly, helpful, and responsive experience from start to finish.
Event Coordination
- Partner with restaurant managers and kitchen teams across all 6 locations to coordinate and execute catering orders.
- Maintain clear communication with store-level staff to ensure all details (timing, quantities, dietary needs, packaging, etc.) are accurate and executed flawlessly.
- Address and resolve any service issues or last-minute changes with professionalism and urgency.
- Oversee, coordinate, and manage offsite events in partnership with other departments.
Marketing & Promotion
- Work alongside the marketing team to create and distribute catering materials, menus, and promotions.
- Contribute to seasonal promotions, guest appreciation programs, and targeted outreach efforts.
Administration & Reporting
- Track and report on catering sales, lead sources, guest feedback, and event trends.
- Maintain an organized system for managing bookings, follow-ups, and client databases.
- Analyze performance metrics to refine strategies and improve service delivery.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in catering sales, restaurant operations, or hospitality account management.
- Passion for food, service, and representing the Spinato’s brand with pride.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and CRM platforms (experience with EZ Catering and R365 a plus).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (local travel required).
