Café Yumm! has an opening for a Facilities Manager in Portland, OR. This position requires travel to Café Yumm! restaurants in the greater Portland/Vancouver, Eugene/Springfield, and Bend area.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of company facilities, equipment, and assets while ensuring projects, budgets, and timelines are managed effectively. This role will ensure that all current and future Café Yumm! restaurants, including the buildings, fixtures, equipment, furniture, and décor, meet the needs and exceed the expectations of the team members who work in, the guests who dine in, and the vendors who serve our facilities.
Wages and Benefits:
- Annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.

Essential Functions:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Interview, hire, train, develop, counsel, and when necessary, discipline, and terminate team members.
2. Organize and oversee schedules of Facilities Technicians. Arrange coverage of duties or fill in when needed.
3. Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of restaurant facilities, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and building systems.
4. Manage and prioritize work orders through the facilities management system to ensure timely resolution of facility issues.
5. Maintain hourly team members’ timecards, break compliance, etc.
6. Uphold collaborative communication by completing the following:
a. Hold consistent and frequent meetings (one-on-one, team, etc.)
b. Provide timely feedback to team members.
7. Delegate responsibilities as needed to help ensure the smooth operation of the business.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance that represents Café Yumm! Mission & Values.
2. Serve as a positive role model to all other team members, vendors, and franchisees.
3. Deliver services that are professional, timely, fair, and in a uniform manner.
4. Develop and manage relationships with owners, managers, vendors, contractors, landlords, and service providers, including negotiating pricing, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality service.
5. Effectively keep others informed about progress and problems.
6. Manage the day-to-day upkeep of current facilities through the following:
a. Maintain the facilities management software to receive maintenance requests from operators.
b. Utilize the facilities management software to delegate work orders to facilities technicians.
c. Monitor, audit, repair, and maintain all equipment and all fixtures at company-owned restaurants in accordance with industry standards, safety concerns, and company values.
d. Track warranties for all equipment and fixtures at company-owned restaurants, and submit warranty claims as necessary.
e. Assist franchisees to maintain equipment and fixtures, as well as plan routine maintenance and deep-cleaning, at franchisee-owned restaurants.
f. Conduct a facilities inspection quarterly for all company-owned restaurants.
7. Develop and manage project budgets through the following:
a. Create an annual budget for the Facilities Department and obtain approval from supervisor.
b. Prepare and submit budget estimates and regularly communicate with Finance Department and franchisees concerning budget progress and costs.
c. Schedule and coordinate projects in logical steps; budget necessary time to meet each deadline.
d. Ensure adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, make quick and necessary adjustments.
8. Communicate with local officials to ensure code interpretation and execution meet standards.
9. Manage and coordinate responses to facility emergencies, equipment failures, weather-related impacts, and other operational disruptions affecting company restaurants and facilities.
10. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and facility-related regulations and standards.
11. Prepare reports, track key performance metrics, and provide recommendations regarding maintenance trends, repairs, and capital replacement needs.
12. Create and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
13. Develop measurable goals and objectives to be achieved or exceeded per project and for interim periods.
14. Work cooperatively with all team members to help fulfill their responsibilities.
15. Perform other special duties and assignments as directed by supervisor or other officers as directed.

Sufficient command of the English language to be able to draft and communicate facilities projects and plans, interpret written materials, coach/supervise facilities technicians, negotiate agreements, service orders, pay rates, materials, and services, and communicate with others both orally and in writing regarding budgeting, warranties, and safety matters.
Education & Experience
1. 18 years of age or older.
2. Preferably possess or be able to obtain a Certified Restaurant Facilities Professional certification.
3. Possess a valid State-issued driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record pursuant to company policies.
4. Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent related experience is required.
5. Knowledge in areas of maintenance of restaurant facilities, fixtures, and equipment is required.
6. Experience as a Facilities Manager or related position for a multi-unit company is required
7. Three (3) years of experience in restaurant maintenance is required
8. Three (3) years of progressive experience and responsibility for managing projects in a business or non-profit setting is required, and such in the restaurant industry is preferred.
9. Experience managing others is preferred.
Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions
- Sitting/Mobility: Ability to work at a desk for long periods of time, effectively move around restaurants, operate a motor vehicle, and stand for long periods of time.
- Communication: Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with co-workers, guests, co-tenants, vendors, suppliers, and outside agencies in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Vision: Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, and assess the quality of materials and operation of equipment.
- Lifting/Carrying: Ability to transport files, design materials, and office supplies - lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to access low areas (i.e., table bases) of restaurants.
- Reaching/Handling: Ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies; Ability to access high areas (i.e., lights) of restaurants.
- Travel: Ability to travel to any restaurant within the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho as well as to any other restaurant opened within the United States.
