Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety & Fleet Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the company’s Safety Program while ensuring compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations across all projects. This position will serve as the company’s primary safety resource, working closely with leadership, project managers, superintendents, and field employees to maintain a strong culture of safety and accountability.


The Safety & Fleet Manager will also oversee the maintenance and management of company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained, inspected, and operated safely. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both in the field and in the office, helping teams stay safe while improving systems, processes, and compliance across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company Safety Program
  • Ensure all job sites comply with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits, safety inspections, and audits
  • Identify potential safety hazards and work with management to implement corrective actions
  • Lead or assist with incident and near-miss investigations
  • Maintain safety reports, documentation, and records
  • Coordinate and maintain employee safety training and certifications
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings to address safety planning and expectations
  • Monitor and maintain company vehicles and equipment, including inspections, maintenance schedules, and repairs
  • Maintain driver records and motor vehicle record (MVR) monitoring
  • Support leadership in maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; additional safety training or certifications preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in construction safety
  • OSHA 30 Construction (required)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both field employees and management
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license with a clear MVR

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification
  • OSHA 500 Trainer certification
  • Experience in electrical or construction contracting
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards

Physical Demands

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance
  • Stand, walk, and travel to various job sites throughout the workday
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, climb, and balance on active construction sites
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain, trenches, and active work areas
  • Use computers and standard office equipment for reporting and documentation

Work Environment

  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust
  • Exposure to construction environments, noise, heavy equipment, and active electrical work
  • Regular travel between job sites and the company office
  • Ability to see, hear, and respond to jobsite hazards and verbal instructions

Schedule, Endurance & Safety

  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and travel as required
  • Maintain awareness of jobsite hazards and enforce company safety policies
  • Perform all duties while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
