Electrical Works is hiring a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects with a high level of autonomy and accountability. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of assigned projects, including preconstruction involvement, execution strategy, financial performance, and successful closeout, all aligned with company strategy, core values, and long-term growth objectives.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned project leader with a demonstrated ability to own outcomes, manage risk, drive profitability, and build durable client relationships. This individual will act as a trusted partner to Owners, General Contractors, and internal leadership, and will play a key role in developing project teams and refining operational best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide full project leadership from preconstruction through final closeout, with end-to-end ownership of scope, schedule, cost, and quality
- Collaborate during preconstruction to influence project strategy, sequencing, staffing plans, and risk mitigation
- Develop, maintain, and adjust comprehensive project execution plans, including schedules, manpower forecasting, procurement strategies, and budgets
- Lead, mentor, and hold project teams accountable while setting clear performance expectations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Owners, General Contractors, engineers, and design partners
- Independently manage and negotiate Change Orders, RFIs, and contract scope, ensuring alignment with financial and schedule objectives
- Monitor project financials, forecasting, and cost controls, and participate in monthly financial and executive review meetings
- Identify and proactively resolve project risks, constructability challenges, and field execution issues
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and trade partners to support repeat business and future opportunities
- Conduct site walks focused on quality, productivity, safety, and schedule adherence
- Lead project closeout activities including documentation, record drawings, cost reporting, and post-project analysis
- Drive division profitability and operational efficiency through disciplined project execution and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading commercial or site development electrical projects, typically valued at $300k+, with increasing responsibility and complexity
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects and teams with minimal oversight
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, and margins
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency with project management software and construction technology tools
- Underground utility experience strongly preferred
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license a plus
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs during site inspections
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs occasionally (e.g., plans, laptops, small equipment, samples)
- Ability to navigate construction sites safely, including uneven terrain, stairs, and confined areas
- Frequent use of hands and arms for office work, writing, and digital devices
- Ability to sit for extended periods during office work, meetings, and client interactions
Work Environment
- Primary work in office settings, with occasional visits to construction sites
- Exposure to moderate noise, dust, weather conditions, and active construction equipment when on site
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond to site hazards during inspections
- Ability to travel as required to project locations
Schedule & Endurance
- Ability to work standard office hours, with occasional weekends and extended hours as project needs dictate
- Ability to maintain mental and physical stamina for client meetings, project planning, and site walkthroughs
Compensation
- Starting salary: $90,000, with final compensation determined based on experience and qualifications.
