Assistant General Manager

Rate of pay$48000 - 52000 per year

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years as a manager in a full-service (table service with full bar and preferably wine service) restaurant
  • Must possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team in a positive atmosphere
  • Excellent customer service skills, ensuring that the customer is our number-one focus
  • Solid track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career tracking
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and motivated with a strong focus on solutions to a problem
  • Computer knowledge is a must
  • RAMP and Serve Safe Manager certification required

 

Duties and Responsibilities


General

  • Opening and closing the facility as per operating procedures
  • Oversee that all opening and closing duties of each department are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the department managers to provide a seamless experience for all guests
  • Manage all aspects of our front-of-house personnel team, including interviewing, hiring, terminations, and evaluations
  • Implement proper procedures including but not limited to opening/closing procedures, training, scheduling, and proper certifications for staffing in place
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) per the departments, including maintaining and editing current ones
  • Proper weekly, daily, and monthly inventories in place
  • Meeting with the General Manager on a weekly basis and providing an update on daily operations, bringing new ideas
  • Ensuring that POS programs used in different departments are updated with the current information to operate smoothly daily
  • Balance daily and nightly cash drawers with the correct paperwork in place
  • Work closely with the HR department in maintain staffing needs per department
  • Schedule appropriate training per job position, department, and as a whole
  • Approve/deny requests for days off
  • Balancing of all daily and nightly cash drawers and POS
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance are performed daily in each department
  • Enforce and monitor all health and safety procedures and sanitation standards in public areas.
  • Mediate any FOH and BOH issues
  • In the absence of the General Manager, it is the responsibility of the Assistant General Manager to oversee the entire facility and ensure operations are held to the highest standard

Team Development

  • Train team members on all information pertaining to Folino Estate Winery, and our offerings including but not limited to wine selection, Folino Estate events, Wine Clubs, tastings, lounge offerings, and how to create a memorable experience that builds brand loyalty among guests
  • Train and coach team members on superb customer service
  • Address and handle employee issues in a professional manner
  • Ensure team member training programs are implemented and measured regularly
  • Conducts regular team member meetings to build rapport and ensure colleagues are well informed
  • Clearly projects the vision of Vintner's Table and the mission of MAF Hospitality overall
  • Conducts quarterly reviews of team member’s performance and provides council as needed
  • Assists with recruitment efforts, receives, and reviews employment applications, and trains department management on orientation
  • Conducts interviews carefully outlining the functions of the position for which a potential team member is being interviewed for
  • Assesses additional training needs and provides ongoing training opportunities
  • Train team members on suggestive selling techniques to increase all sales and gain repeat customers
  • Train team members in promoting membership in our wine club
  • Assist the department when busy (expedite or run food, pour water, bus tables, polish silverware, seat guests) whatever it takes to ensure that the customer has an amazing experience

 Customer Service

  • Provide and excel at superior customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees focusing on the guest experience at Vintner's Table.
  • Orchestrate and control customer seating at peak business times to ensure maximum capacity
  • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines or by offering suggestions and solutions, following through with the proper channels to resolve future issues.
  • Ensure guests leave with an overwhelmingly positive experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work ten-hour-plus shifts, with extended standing/walking
  • Evenings, weekends, and holidays are a must
  • Capable of lifting materials and/or products up to 50 pounds or more
