Bartender – O’Brien’s Irish Pub & Grill

O’Brien’s Irish Pub & Grill is looking for experienced, dependable, and outgoing Bartenders to join our team. We are looking for people who can provide great hospitality while keeping up with the pace and demands of a busy restaurant and bar.

Position Summary

Bartenders are responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to bar guests while also preparing beverages for the entire restaurant. The ideal bartender can multitask, maintain accuracy during high-volume periods, and understands the importance of responsible alcohol service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve bar guests promptly and professionally.
• Prepare beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages accurately and consistently.
• Prepare service-bar drinks quickly while continuing to provide attentive service to bar guests.
• Maintain knowledge of our drink menu, food menu, daily specials, promotions, and featured beverages.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and properly handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Monitor guests and follow all responsible alcohol-service policies and procedures.
• Verify identification and follow all laws and company policies regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar throughout the shift.
• Complete opening, running, and closing side work.
• Restock beer, liquor, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies as needed.
• Wash and properly handle glassware and maintain clean bar equipment.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, management, and fellow bartenders.
• Assist teammates when needed and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Maintain professionalism and composure when dealing with difficult guests or high-volume situations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and company policies.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous bartending experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
• Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent guest-service skills
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment
• Strong cash-handling skills
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

This position requires prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and reaching, and the ability to lift, carry, and move beverage cases, kegs, bar supplies, glassware, and other restaurant items as required.
