Job Description and Duties
The Human Resources and Talent Development Intern will acquire practical HR
experience while putting your skills, intelligence and creativity to work in a high
energy, fast paced, customer and employee focused restaurant. You will work
directly with key personnel within the Human Resources Department, assisting with
the planning, training and development of Team Members. The intern will learn all
aspects of the HR division of the business including: Compensation and Benefits,
Employee and Labor Relations, Employment Law, Statistics, Organizational Behavior,
HR Strategy, Workforce Planning and Staffing, and Performance Management. The
ideal candidate possesses positivity and diligence, effectively executing tasks with
enthusiasm and accuracy. They are people-oriented with excellent communication,
organizational and time-management skills including the ability to multitask and
think outside the box.
Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training of new Team Members
- Track and document each Team Member’s training schedule and milestones
- Maintain documentation and distribution of benefits packages
- Maintain all personnel records
- Produce professional documents and presentations
Learning Objectives
- Determine and execute the goals of the Human Resources and Talent Team
- Develop customer service skills to anticipate and identify the needs of employees
- Develop consulting skills to build effective relationships with managers to help them strategically manage their human resources
- Utilize written and verbal communication skills to articulate HR strategies, initiatives, options and advice
- Identify and analyze recruiting plan directives
- Develop and enhance relationships with staff
- Produce high quality documents utilizing Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint
- Identify and analyze data and reports within the HR function
- Demonstrate effective personnel record keeping
- Acquire experience working on a high-performance leadership team
Requirements
- College student pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management or related management field
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Must have excellent listening and communication skills
- Must have proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Must have excellent time management and decision making skills
- Management and leadership skills preferred
- Due to job requirements, applicants must be 18 years or older
