Country Wound Care and Hyperbarics is seeking a skilled and compassionate
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Technician to join our team. This role is
essential in supporting the safe and effective delivery of hyperbaric oxygen
therapy to patients with complex wounds and related medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
·
• Prepare, operate, and monitor hyperbaric
oxygen therapy chambers during patient treatments.
·
• Assist in patient preparation, positioning,
and post-treatment care in collaboration with clinical staff.
·
• Conduct pre-treatment patient safety checks,
ensuring all protocols and safety standards are met.
·
• Monitor patients during therapy sessions and
respond to emergencies as necessary.
·
• Maintain accurate treatment logs, patient
records, and equipment documentation.
·
• Perform minor routine maintenance and basic
troubleshooting of hyperbaric chambers and related equipment.
·
• Ensure compliance with facility policies,
safety regulations, and infection control standards with a focus on working in
a high oxygen concentration environment.
·
• Educate patients on the hyperbaric oxygen
therapy process and address concerns under the supervision of licensed
providers.
·
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and staff
to ensure high-quality wound care outcomes.
Qualifications
·
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
with an MA or CNA certification. An associate degree in a patient contact
healthcare-related field is preferred.
·
•Two years of experience or a combination of
experience using a multi-place recompression chamber in a hospital, or military
facility or using an FDA-approved monoplace hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber.
·
•Proof of completion with a certificate from the
National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) 40-hour
course; CHT-A or CHT-S. Certification as a Certified Hyperbaric Technician
(CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) is strongly preferred.

• Previous experience in hyperbaric medicine,
wound care, or related clinical environment highly desirable.
·
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
·
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness,
and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
·
• Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills with a patient-centered approach.
·
• Ability to work collaboratively in a
multidisciplinary clinical team environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in our wound care and hyperbaric
medicine clinic. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician works closely with
physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver specialized
patient care.
