Role Type: Full-time


Working Hours: This position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Weekly hours will vary depending on business needs.

Job Summary: The Shift Lead supports daily restaurant operations by leading team members, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and role modeling Krystal’s Core Values. This position focuses on people development, guest satisfaction, food safety, and financial accountability while helping drive results in sales and profitability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Krystal Core Values while training, coaching, and recognizing team members
  • Support performance management processes to ensure accountability and development
  • Assist management in building and retaining high-performing teams
  • Lead a customer-focused culture by modeling exceptional guest service
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and coach team members on service excellence   
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are met through direct supervision   
  • Support restaurant marketing initiatives, promotions, and sales-driving programs     
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed to maximize speed, accuracy, and quality    
  • Execute cash handling, security, inventory, labor, and food control procedures during shifts   
  • Identify operational gaps and take corrective action to improve performance 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operating systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:

  • Strong understanding of food safety and store operations.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and coaching skills.  
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable decision-making and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Basic cash handling and inventory tracking. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork mindset.


Education and Experience:

An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience.
  • Must be able to do basic math at the eighth-grade level.     
  • On-the-job training is provided for all new team members.


Working environment and physical requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply
  • Maintains Food Handlers and Food Safety Certification as required by Refuel.
  • Must be able to stand during the entire work shift.
  • Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes.      
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.


Travel: Must be able to travel up to 10%
