Job Summary: A Dairy Queen Shift Lead supports restaurant operations by leading the team during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining food quality and cleanliness standards. This role acts as a key point of support for the management team and helps keep shifts running smoothly.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support team members during assigned shifts
- Ensure guests receive fast, friendly, and accurate service
- Assist with training and coaching new team members
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and order accuracy
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies
- Assign tasks and manage workflow to meet service goals
- Handle cash drawers, deposits, and basic shift paperwork
- Address guest concerns and resolve issues professionally
- Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant and work areas
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to learn and follow company procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Education and Experience:
An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- Previous quick-service or food service experience
Working environment and physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand during the entire work shift.
- Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
- Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.
Travel: Must be able to travel up to 10%
