The Sales Manager will be responsible for generating, managing, and coordinating catering sales for the hotel's meeting, event, and restaurant spaces. They will oversee all aspects of meetings & events through contract negotiation and finalization, to group reception and event catering. They shall maintain a consistently positive and professional relationship with all clients. 


They will handle sales and customer issues by providing customer service; researching, resolving, and clarifying any questions; and providing appropriate suggestions regarding menu selections. They shall also be available to meet with clients at the hotel for tours, tastings, and follow-ups, as well as assist with general catering operations as needed, such as to facilitate delivery or set up.


Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships by prospecting and networking with key decision makers.
  • Independently source, identify, and pursue opportunities through professional industry resources, community events, or special events.
  • Maintain an extensive client database for follow-up sales calls and contact.
  • Responsible for negotiating & submitting finalized catering contracts or banquet event orders.
  • Address all catering requirements & requests in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for all catering sales activities and progress reporting.
  • Communicate with the Executive Chef when needed on BEO's.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of catered meetings & events, as necessary.
  • Serve as primary contact when an inquiry comes in; send a proposal with pricing and menu options, respond to questions or concerns in a timely manner, and approve any changes or requests as needed.
  • Assist with follow-up of guests' experience, ensuring that issues are addressed and future business is gained.

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years in an outside sales role, with a proven track record.
  • Minimum 2 year related hospitality industry experience.
  • Ability to travel to outside sales calls and/or off-site events.
  • Successful experience in catering/restaurant (or related) sales generation, contract negotiation and pricing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications to include Microsoft Office.

Compensation

  • Commission-based only.
  • Up to 10% of gross sales based on experience, net service fee, tax and/or gratuity.
