Position overview The General Manager (GM) serves as the right hand to the Owner/Operator and is responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant operations. This role exists to ensure we deliver exceptional guest experiences, develop outstanding leaders, and operate a highly profitable business.
The GM champions our core values and our “Winning Hearts Every Day” strategy by building strong teams, driving operational excellence, and developing leaders at every level of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Champion the restaurant’s core values and Winning Hearts Every Day strategy.
- Lead, coach, and develop Directors and senior leaders to build a unified, high-performing leadership team.
- Hold Directors accountable for their primary and additional areas of responsibility while leading with and through them.
- Oversee the development, coaching, and mentoring of Managers and leaders—helping them grow in current roles and prepare for future opportunities.
- Guide leaders through Personal Development Plans and our Leadership Development Program.
Operations Excellence
Lead and oversee all Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations, including:
- People management
- Training and development
- Food quality and safety
- Cleanliness and organization
- Facilities and equipment maintenance
- Ensure consistent execution of systems and processes that drive operational excellence.
- Identify key areas of opportunity and implement strategic improvements.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools to evaluate performance, eliminate waste, and manage food cost.
- Engage in immediate problem resolution for critical issues beyond on-shift leadership capacity.
Facilities & Maintenance
- Oversee facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Work closely with service providers to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
- Manage recurring maintenance programs.
- Handle security and temperature alerts 24/7 to ensure safety and food integrity.
Talent & Organizational Strategy
- Partner with the Talent Director to meet hiring and training needs.
- Provide input to the Owner/Operator regarding organizational structure and growth planning.
- Study and implement best practices from top-performing Chick-fil-A locations.
- Track leadership development and growth metrics for yourself and others.
Administrative & Operational Management
- Own the scheduling process to meet labor and productivity goals while ensuring proper leadership coverage.
- Manage daily labor performance and address attendance and timekeeping issues.
- Prepare for and lead weekly leadership meetings and bi-weekly one-on-ones with Directors.
- Ensure administrative functions are completed accurately and on time.

- Comfort being on the floor, not observing on the sidelines

Schedule:
- 40-45 hours per week
- majority of time spent in operations
- availability to support the business outside scheduled shifts when critical needs arise
- structured time provided for planning and administrative work
