Established restaurant group is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to manage all aspects of the group’s growing 40+ restaurant financial operations. The Accounting Manager position is responsible for ensuring the organization’s business transactions meet all relevant federal, state, municipal, and industry-specific laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations. Expected to make regular suggestions for process improvement and contribute to team projects including the annual financial audits and reviews. Must exhibit a solid understanding of GAAP accounting requirements and a proven track record of leading a team and managing staff.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Manage office staff and facilitate regular communication for process improvements and cost savings
• Perform daily routine accounting processes such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, recording Payroll, Cash Management, and recording journal entries
• Assist Accounting Leadership in managing financial accounting and reporting activities 
• Prepare financial data and ledgers for purposes of financial reporting and analysis
• Prepare analytical reviews and reporting packages for senior management including but not limited to profit and loss analysis, sales forecasting, cash flow forecasting, capital expense forecasting, equity projections, cash projections, and related variance analyses 
• Prepare financial reports as needed for statutory, banking, investment and other purposes
• Assist Accounting Leadership in design and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures and proper controls
• Assist Accounting Leadership with internal and external audits, reviews and annual budgets
• Assist in resolution of any accounting and internal control issues related 
• Perform research related to areas such as internal expansion, GAAP and tax compliance
• Work closely with Accounting Leadership to ensure all deadlines are met
• Special projects
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time, on-site position Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree from accredited 4-year university in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management required.
• 3 - 5+ years of experience in Accounting and/or related field with proven track record.
• Strong technical skills and experience with QuickBooks, Excel, Microsoft 365, preferred
• Strong relationship management, verbal and written communication, and strategic thinking & analytical skills required.
• Ability to see the big picture, while possessing strong analytical/technical skills.
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP statutory accounting, new revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
• Proficient at research and reading comprehension
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills with polished presentation skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Must be team player
• Restaurant accounting experience, a plus
