We are a rapidly growing restaurant looking for Prep Cooks to help enhance our company. We are looking for creative, motivated professionals who can work well alone and on a team with others. You will report to the Kitchen Manager or Assistant Managers as well as your team leads. The position requires 30-35 hours a week including nights, weekends, and certain Holidays each month [NOTE: Thanksgiving and Christmas off.] This position requires the ability to follow instructions and recipes. Good people skills and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for 4-10 hours
- Be able to kneel, stoop, bend, push, shove, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be mentally alert, detail oriented with good reasoning skills
- Knowledge of service standards
- Strong organization and active listening skills
- Team player and take orders from managers and leaders efficiently
- Wear company-provided uniform
- Proactively complete tasks
- Cross-train between food stations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
- Prepare vegetables and proteins per guidelines for each Angry Crab Shack recipe
- Weigh vegetables and proteins to exact requirements
- Prepare sauces, spices, and components for cooks
- Read recipes, decant (open) cans as needed
- Operate all equipment safely
- Keep floors clean and clear of debris
- Maintain clean, sanitized, and orderly prep area
- Practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards at all times
- Adhere to quality standards and restaurant rules and procedures
- Label, properly stock all ingredients and prepared food in its correct storage area
- Maintain all walk-in and storage areas
- Clean and sanitize all dishes, cooking utensils
- Take out the trash and clean trash receptacles
- Monitor product levels and report the results to a decision maker
- Ensure all equipment and tools are in great working order and report the results
